Run by the Seiler family for over 160 years, the Monte Rosa is a superb, historic hotel in the heart of Zermatt.
The hotel has been at the centre of Zermatt's tourism industry since opening in 1853 and has played host to many a dignitary, including Edward Whymper, the first person to climb the Matterhorn, and Mark Twain. The whole hotel is traditional in style, with many of the historic features proudly displayed.
Along with the history, you'll have all the modern luxuries you'd expect from a quality hotel.
Just so you're aware, upon arriving in Zermatt, the hotel is approximately 500m from the station. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from the station or it's around an 8-minute walk.
Please note that safety standards around balconies, railings and public walkways are different in Switzerland and may be lower or have ornamental features that you wouldn’t see in the UK or Ireland.
For your own safety and that of everyone you’re travelling with, please make sure you take care not to lean on or over any railings. If you have children under 12 years, please make sure they’re supervised and not left alone at any time.
